Modern Web Design for a Nutritionist

Client Overview

Ali Simkins is a nutritionist building a brand new practice for women navigating some of the hardest seasons of their health: perimenopause, PCOS, endometriosis, prenatal and postpartum hormone shifts.

She'd just come off years of education, degrees, and certifications to get here, and she wasn't about to hand the final, most visible piece of that journey over to a DIY project or a generic template.

After everything it took to become this kind of practitioner, she knew her business, and the women she'd be working with, deserved something built specifically for them - created to elevate her brand, and build her credibility as a new nutrition brand.

The Problem

Ali's Instagram already looked like a real brand. She had an eye for it- you could tell just from scrolling. But when it came time to build her actual website, she felt overwhelmed and lost, with no clear sense of how to translate her signature aesthetic online.

She said it herself going into this: she wasn't sure she could execute or organize it the way it needed to be done. On our calls, she kept catching herself mid-answer - "that's a tough question," "I feel like I'm really bad at verbalizing this" - not because she didn't know what she wanted, but because she'd never had to turn a feeling into an actual plan before. She wasn't sure how her own services page should flow, or whether people should book a call straight from the site or fill out a form first.

She had the aesthetic. She had the client clarity. She built her offers. What she didn't have was a way to organize it all into a beautiful, cohesive, professional website

That's where I come in. After 6+ years of building websites for wellness brands, I have a process built for exactly this. We get on calls and just talk it through- I ask the questions she hasn't thought to ask herself, we go through her Pinterest board image by image, and I start pulling out the actual decisions hiding inside her reactions. She doesn't need a perfect brief. She needs someone asking the right questions and turning her answers into a real plan.

What We Did

We started by pulling apart the vague descriptors into something concrete. Over multiple strategy calls we developed her site map, user journey, and planned out her content. We worked through her Pinterest boards together, image by image- what she was drawn to, what felt off, what was almost right but needed adjusting. That process turned "warm and earthy but still elevated" into an actual decision: a muted neutral palette with enough contrast to feel grounded rather than flat, and a clean editorial sans serif in a lighter weight, instead of anything bubbly or overly corporate.

From there, we built her brand kit - her color palette, font pairings, and homepage mockup - so she could see the vision fully realized before a single page was designed. That kit became the blueprint for the entire site.

We also built out specific credibility boosters into the site itself, because a brand new practice doesn't get to lean on years of reviews yet. We gave Ali a specialties and symptoms section on her services page so a woman could immediately see herself reflected: PCOS, perimenopause, postpartum, the exact words women use to describe what they're going through, not generic nutrition language.

We built in a mini-bio on the services page so visitors know who they're working with before they ever click to her about page, paired with a number bar and FAQs to get ahead of the questions that usually stall someone out before they book.

The Outcome

Ali went from overwhelmed and unsure how to even start, to having a finished, professional site she didn't have to build, organize, or figure out on her own.

That's the part that matters most for a brand new business owner. Ali had already spent years on her education and certifications - she didn't have time left over to also become a web designer, a copywriter, and a brand strategist before she could open her doors. We took that off her plate entirely.

She said it best herself: “working with Jamie felt like having a creative partner who actually understood her vision and brought it to life” not another thing on her to-do list.

She's already hearing it from the people who matter most: visitors complimenting the usability, the design, the overall feel of the site. For a practice that's just getting started, that's not a small thing - those first impressions are what turn a curious visitor into someone who actually books a call. Ali walked away with the foundation to do exactly that, without the overwhelm that almost kept her from launching in the first place.

“Working with Jamie felt like having a positive, creative partner who worked hard to understand my vision and bring it to life.

Her websites feel elevated, thoughtful, and timeless without being overly trendy. She has a unique ability to create designs that are both beautiful and highly functional, allowing your brand to shine through in an authentic way.

My favorite part of working together was how much time and effort Jamie took off of my hands. I've received many compliments on the usability, design and style!”
